Pulliq-M can be configured to produce the following kind of single dose units, made of water soluble foil:
- PVOH-pods filled with 1 or 2 powders (separated compartments)
- PVOH-pods filled with 1, 2, 3 or 4 liquids (separated compartments)
- PVOH-pods filled with 1 powder and 1 fluid- PVOH-pods filled with powder(s) and 1 pill
- PVOH-pods filled with liquid(s) and 1 pill
Stay ahead of the competition with new powder and liquid combinations
The possibility to combine fluids with powder or gel, creates new marketing and product development opportunities. It is no longer necessary to choose between liquid of powder pods. Pulliq-M even makes it possible to combine liquid with powder and pills or to combine gel with liquid or powder.
Multi compartment pouches
Creating additional compartments in a pod enables new shapes to be developed. The Pulliq-M can handle multi compartment pouches, with multiple filling materials. The precision dosing systems guarantee that every compartment will get exactly the right filling. The design of the pod is transferred to the moulds placed on the bream. The shape of the pod is only limited by the possibilities offered by the chosen water soluble foil and the dosing material. Each foil has its own characteristics, just like the dosing material.
Constant temperature for optimal PVOH processing
The heart of the Pulliq-M is a drum with a 1500 mm radius. The drum has a rubber casing which keeps the temperature of the foil constant and precise at a preset temperature. This is important, because the water soluble foil is very sensitive to temperature and moisture fluctuations.
Make up to 1200 multi-compartment pouches per minute
Beams of moulds are placed on the drum. Depending on the size of the mould a minimum of 70 beams and a maximum of 85 beams can be placed. With 7 to 15 moulds per beam, Pulliq-M has a maximum output of approximately 1200 pouches per minute, if filled with 2 liquids. Be aware that the output strongly depends on the types of filling used and shape of the pouches.
Increase output of pouches with automatic splicer
To increase output, an automatic splicer is placed on the Pulliq-M 660. This automatically switches rolls as soon as one roll of water soluble foil is empty. This means that the operator can place a new roll on the Pulliq-M 660, while the platform keeps running.
Flexibility in switching shapes of pods
Every Pulliq-M platform is configured to the specific needs for making a product. The drum-techniq ables the Pulliq-M to be used for more than one kind of pod. There is enough space above the drum to switch between fillers and the drum itself can be replaced quickly by a drum with other shaped moulds. By switching the drum and adjusting the settings, a new product can be created.
Healthy and safe pouch-making machine
The drum of the Pulliq-M is placed in a closed casing. When opening the doors, the machine stops automatically. This keeps the operators safe. The casing also prevents operators coming into contact with loose enzymes. Although there is no clarity yet about the consequences of enzymes, at EME Engel we would rather be safe than sorry.
Optimal function in conditioned environment
To function optimally the Pulliq-M should be placed in a conditioned environment at a constant temperate and humidity. Additionally the water soluble foil and fillings should be stored under standard conditions. Water soluble foils react strongly to changes in temperature and humidity influencing the quality of the pouches made by the Pulliq-M.
